SC-500 is not AZ-500 renamed. It keeps the entire Azure security engineering role — identity, Key Vault, governance, storage, databases, networking, servers, application platforms, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel — and adds a domain that did not exist when its predecessor was designed: securing AI workloads, AI agents, Copilot experiences, and the data those systems can reach. Nothing in the infrastructure half of this exam prepares you for three facts: permissions that were merely untidy for a decade become disclosures the moment an assistant is grounded in them; content a system processes can instruct it; and an identity that used to execute what a developer wrote now decides for itself.
