This book opened my eyes unlike anything else before it. It “gave me permission” to be the man I’ve always wanted to be. I’m so grateful to God for the author and his heart for fellow men. Read this book.

I would give this a 10 out of 5 if I could. Many nights I sat up and cried over these pages. God provided healing to so many wounds by reading this book. My heart was ransomed. This is a must read! For men and women. And so is captivating. I love how he breaks it down to man’s 3 basic needs. My favorite book of all time no doubt. And it is saturated with the Gospel. Read it with an open heart and let God speak to you.

I was given this book 16 years ago - give or take a year - I was in my mid 20’s and I hated anything to do with reading at that point. I was raised to believe in the Almighty Father, the Holy Spirit, and my Savior, Jesus Christ from pre-school until 7th grade I attended Harding Academy. Plus both side of my grandparents where devoted to the Trinity and their brothers and sisters in Christ. I never ever stopped believeing in God, the Holy Spirit, or Christ, but I did not obey, walk with Jesus or pray once I got into my teenage years, unless I needed something from God. I actually became a master of practicing sin. But one day profound day not too long ago I was in a very dark place and the Enemy was constantly trying to get me to jump of a cliff - sort of speak - Then all of a sudden I decided after 44 years everything in my life was changing - my anger, hostility, violent nature - just every bit of living life my way - it had not worked at any point in my life…but I started reading a few books and studying my Bible for hours a day - like I said before this I hated to read. I only read for schools when I was in the Army and for college. I never read for pure joy and enlightenment. But I finally got to back to Wild at Hear a couple of day ago- I could not put it down. I would read a chapter and then be like WHOOOO and read the chapter again and take notes. It is a must read…and better now than later - trust me!
  • Transformational!

I read this as part of the Men’s Hike ministry of Seacoast Church in Charleston SC, and it has been the most transformational month of the decade for me. I am passionately committed to serving and loving my wife again, and I have an inner strength born of masculinity unlocked and unwavering validation that comes from God and not the world. The battle is real. Satan is not a fairy tale, but if you believe that, he is winning already. This is war, let us take up our shields and fight every single day. I will fight for my family, my purity, for the Kingdom.

Great book and great vision! There are a few pages that were a little over top for me, but when the other 440 pages truly touch home , then it’s a winner in my book! I love his chapter on being a warrior for your wife and be willing to fight for her, it’s true and John is so true on his vision of a churchy man and wife, although I am a church member myself I see exactly what he is saying! Thanks for the Book sir, and I’m looking forward to reading two more I have already bought!! Cheers my friends, Trey in Alabama
