    Starts out just to slow and really doesnt take off. Lost my attention due to that. Then it becomes predrictable .

    Though fiction, The Third Gate forces the reader to submerge ones self into the historic 'semi' facts and riveting character builds accompanied by a gripping story line. A must read for any mystery enthusiast.

    This book kept me guessing from start to finish. It is very well written the story although complex, is very easy to follow. All the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I would definitely recommend it as a twisted modern day Indiana jones / meets sci-fi twist.

    Another terrific Lincoln Child novel! I was hooked on Thunderhead several years ago and have read all of Mr. Child's other novels as a result. Could not put this book down. Just an awesome story.

    I was so needing a good book. Dang! The characters were one shallow, the plot was transparent, and the "spooky ancient spiritual" malarkey was, ... Well, malarkey. C+ for a first novel. Oh, not a first novel? Then, no excuse.
