Description

#1 New York Times Bestseller – Soon to be a Major Motion Picture starring Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, and Gary Oldman

“Astounding. Thrilling. Amazing.” —Gillian Flynn

“Unputdownable.” —Stephen King

“A dark, twisty confection.” —Ruth Ware

“Absolutely gripping.” —Louise Penny

For readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French comes one of the decade’s most anticipated debuts, to be published in thirty-six languages around the world and already in development as a major film from Fox: a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.

It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .

Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.

Really enjoyed this masterfully written thriller which reads like a Hitchcock movie. Couldn’t put it down. Had to find out what happens next!

It felt rushed in the end and everything got tied up too nearly but the multiple twists kept me interested.
  • Struggled to get through to the end

Very slow and lacked depth. Not sure why this book has been so popular for some time. Maybe it appeals more to a different kind of person but it definitely wasn’t my cup of tea. I struggled, and I mean heavily struggled, to get through this book. I kept finding myself wanting and hoping for a high action scene to reveal a plot twist or to introduce some adrenaline, but no scene ever came

What a fascinating, poetic read!! I Finn writes with such clarity, precision and depth. I barely put it down (with exception to one section after the half way mark - not a big deal at all!) I will always love a scintillating plot and prose!

Could not put this one down. A little too long only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars.

Really one of the best books I've read in awhile. I couldn't put it down, read it in one weekend. Great deterrent for the crazy world we are living in now. Anna takes social distancing to a new level.

This book was amazing! I haven’t been able to pick up a book and enjoy it. Definitely revived my love for reading. Everyone should at least download the sample to see if it’s something you would read. Can not recommend enough!

This book is about a therapist who views the world from her window. She has an awkward perception of others and loves to have a glass of wine. Living in solitude the mystery house across the park has strange events that happen. Trying not to be insane from a witnessed murder. She does everything she can to capture proof through her camera without being spotted.
