Description

This special enhanced edition of Total Recall includes over 150 photos with narration by Arnold Schwarzenegger along with video clips from his careers in bodybuilding, film, and politics.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s story is unique, and uniquely entertaining, and he tells it brilliantly in Total Recall.

He was born in a year of famine, in a small Austrian town, the son of an austere police chief. He dreamed of moving to America to become a bodybuilding champion and a movie star.

By the age of twenty-one, he was living in Los Angeles and had been crowned Mr. Universe.

Within five years, he had learned English and become the greatest bodybuilder in the world.

Within ten years, he had earned his college degree and was a millionaire from his business enterprises in real estate, construction, and bodybuilding. He was also the winner of a Golden Globe Award for his debut as a dramatic actor in Stay Hungry.

Within twenty years, he was the world’s biggest movie star, the husband of Maria Shriver, and an emerging Republican leader who was part of the Kennedy family.

Thirty-six years after coming to America, the man once known by fellow bodybuilders as the Austrian Oak was elected governor of California, the seventh largest economy in the world.

He led the state through a budget crisis, natural disasters, and political turmoil, working across party lines for a better environment, election reforms, new infrastructure to rebuild California, and bipartisan solutions.

Until now, he has never told the full story of his life, including his greatest successes and his biggest failures, in his own voice.

Here is Arnold, with total recall.

Remarkable story with good advice. Would probably have had an interesting life if he only had success in bodybuilding, movies, business or politics, but all of them? In a foreign country?

Arnold's example through his shared mindset on always moving forward, learning, and truly living is inspiring and motivating! His achievements in life are results to such a remarkable way of thinking and acting on those ambitions. This book is now one of my favorites!

I'm the type of guy who reads a book for a few chapters then loses interest, but this book had me glued to my iPad for two weeks! The biggest takeaway from reading this book is how motivational and inspiring Arnold's life story is. 10/10 loved it.

I was entertained and loved his telling the story of his upbringing and life for him at the beginning. I didnt know of all his irons in the fire, busy guy, loved his life of service and the doing instead of talking. Loved the book!
  • Good read for those interested

Egotistic, self centered and at time Narsassitic. However, in contradiction he helped a lot of kids, special needs kids, friends and volunteered without pay for a lot of public service. He is a contradiction like he says ... Cigar smoking fitness freak.... At times I see him as a bull in a china shop other times extremely opportunistic and intelligent. A lot of detail was skipped and passed over for his legacy purposes so this book could have been better in that regard but it gave some insight on where he came from who he is and what drove him to his decisions. I like Arnold and will watch his movies he is an overall interesting character. Fun read but some worthless pages too.
