Description

New York Times Bestseller. “A superb book. . . . [Lewis] makes Silicon Valley as thrilling and intelligible as he made Wall Street in his best-selling Liar’s Poker.”—Time
In the weird glow of the dying millennium, Michael Lewis set out on a safari through Silicon Valley to find the world’s most important technology entrepreneur. He found this in Jim Clark, a man whose achievements include the founding of three separate billion-dollar companies. Lewis also found much more, and the result—the best-selling book The New New Thing—is an ingeniously conceived history of the Internet revolution.

Want to learn in excruciating detail how a billionaire built and sailed his yacht for 200 pages? If not look somewhere else.
  • Quite a study of the mind of an innovator!

It's one of the most interesting business (?) books I've ever read. Had trouble putting it down. Quite a study of the mind of an innovator. Filled with many thought-provoking ways of seeing opportunities.
  • Insightful, entertaining and still amazingly current

This remains the definitive book on Silicon Valley in the dot com era. It tells the improbable story of how a wrong side of the tracks high school dropout from Sweetwater, TX was overwhelmingly responsible for shaping the modern technology economy. The New New Thing is up there with Moneyball and The Big Short as an entertaining, deeply insightful book focused on people most of us have never heard of who were incredibly important.
