An interesting book about men's perspectives on relationship issues done with humor and reverence, It is more about beginning relationships where children or blended families will be of concern and not so focused on divorcees with grown children. I love, love, LOVE all references to Steve's wife, Marjorie!

I was looking through reviews about this book and some people dislike it. They've said they feel disgusted, offended, it's one sided, you name it, I'm sure they said it. But I love his book to be honest! He shines a light on men and what we women can do to get what we want from them and if they can't commit to their women then it's time for us to move on, and find that love we deserve elsewhere. This book is empowering to women. He doesn't say men are perfect just that they have some work to do, and to make them better us women can help men become better for us. Also, he gives advice and tips on how to act around men on a date or when things aren't necessarily going right in a relationship. I think he makes really valid points and this book is a great read ! I absolutely recommend!

Wow. All the negative 1 star reviewers stating that this book is degrading is crazy feminist that don't need men anyway. It was actually quite the opposite. This book encouraged women to maintain standards and self respect. He never said ALL MEN CHEAT. And sure, not all men are the same. This read was a great summary of their general characteristics. I have dated quite a bit. I am currently married and have been with my husband for 7 years. I have read other blogs and articles on psychology website about how men are hard wired. Through that and my personal experience, this book was spot on! I read the whole thing in a few hours tonight. Even if you disagree with some points, it's definitely thought provoking.

I feel like a lot of women who reads this book will take it the wrong way. Most are probably feminist. (I agree with feminist 98% of the time) They might be offended on how Steve Harvey tells the women to basically surrender to the man. They also have to realize he says unless the man surrenders to you AND this is his way of doing it. If the shoe was on the other foot & this book was about women, our excuse would be --- since a man loves us he has to put up with the BS we come with. (mood swings, attitudes, emotional, nagging, wanting, how we sometimes express ourselves, how we just want men to know whats wrong and be treated like a queen [because Steve Harvey strongly expresses how men want to be treated like kings] and ect. -- then it would be okay? All relationships needs compromise. Dont love the person on how you think you should love them. Love them the way that they want to be loved. He used a great example on how AFTER his wife became his wife (which means he did his job as a man) she gave up something just for him, not because he asked, but because she wanted to. He's just saying things like that means a lot to men. Me, I love it. Some of this stuff of course I was like "Hxll NO" lol. After him explaining his reasons I had to be open-minded enough to understand where he was coming from because we women have our flaws too that we expect men to compromise with. A relationship works both ways

Thank you Steve, Marjorie and God for writing this book. Simple to the point writing with confirmations from almost any other scenario. After years of trying to understand the difference in the sexes...this was the missing link! I am comfortable now, finally and have direction for myself and family;)

This book is a great read. It took me a minute to read it because I wasn’t in the right ‘head space’ to take it all in. I saw the movie and loved it and I love the book as well. It reminded me that I’m not crazy or picky or that my standards are too high. I am worth it and deserve a good man who sees and respects my value. This book is especially great for anyone who has experienced a really bad break up and is just getting back into the dating scene.
